The Series

Divided across time.

The series continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence.

On October 31, 1992, X-Men: The Animated Series exploded onto Fox Kids — five seasons, 76 episodes, all directed by Larry Houston, all launched by Haim Saban and Shuki Levy’s unbeatable theme. For a generation, this was the X-Men.

When “Graduation Day” aired on September 20, 1997, Charles Xavier left Earth with the Shi’ar — and the screen went quiet. Twenty-seven years later, X-Men ’97 picks up months after that goodbye, with original voices Cal Dodd, Alison Sealy-Smith, Lenore Zann, George Buza and Adrian Hough back in the booth.

The longest-running Marvel animated series of its era. The record stood until 2015.
